About

A vessel for a story long in the making

Michael Doochin spent eight years studying the Tanya with Rabbi Yitzchok Tiechtel of Nashville. He is an accomplished oil painter, photographer, certified Healing Touch practitioner, world traveler, ethnographic art collector, avid environmentalist, and Certified Tennessee Naturalist.

Married with three children, he received a BA in economics from Williams College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is an owner and manager of a packaging and label business outside of Nashville, Tennessee, where he resides.

His decade of immersion in kabbalah and the teachings of the Chabad-Lubavitch school of Chassidic thought became the wellspring for The Tzaddik — a novel that distills the spirit of the Tanya into a story for a modern reader.
